About WIHSKI

The WIHSKI Club is a non-profit activities club for adults based in Seattle. We hold our General Meeting/Social at the Swedish Cultural Center located at 1920 Dexter Ave. North, on the East side of Queen Ann Hill overlooking Lake Union on the first Tuesday of the month. Members and guests can socialize from 6:30 PM to 7 PM, then announcements begin. The meeting is open to all and there is no charge.
        Despite the name sound, WIHSKI activities are not based on the drink, We feature skiing, cycling, hiking, golf, dinners, game nights and as many other activities as our members are interested in sponsoring.
         The club started at the Western International Hotel more than forty years ago and survives today as an activities club, run by volunteers, with the activities limited only by the will to sponsor and participate in them. Our most major activity is still skiing, but something is going on with WIHSKI about every week of the year.

The WIHSKI News is published quarterly, December - February, March - May, June - August and September - November.

December:

Thursday the 9th at 6:00 pm. Wine making and bottling. This will be the last meeting at the old Gallagher's, they are moving down the street. Bring a snack to share, bottle of wine and a party mood. RSVP Karen K.

Saturday the 11th at 3:00 pm - til? Steve & Diane's annual Christmas Party. Come join your friends for holiday merrymaking. Bring a dish to share or dessert treat, BYOB.

Thursday the 14th from 2:00 pm til 7:00 pm. Forgotten Children Gift Wrapping and Dinner. Join us for an afternoon of gift wrapping for the Forgotten Children's Fund, followed by dinner. RSVP Barbara R. or Beryl S. for dinner reservations.

Wednesday the 15th at 6:30 pm. Pinochle with Diane. Bring a snack to share and a dollar for the pot, BYOB. Play begins at 7.

January:

Thursday the 6th time TBD. Museum of History and Industry. Don't know if there any new exhibits, but it should fun to visit there again. Free day! RSVP Gene C.

Saturday the 8th at 6:00 pm. Game Night. A game(s) night with friends - cards, board games (bring your favorite), LRC etc.- we will all decide. BYOB and a snack to share.

Wednesday the 12th at 6:30 pm. Pinochle with Beth. Bring a snack to share and a dollar for the pot, BYOB. Play begins at 7.

Thursday the 13th, time TBD. Nordic Skiing at Stevens Pass. Join us to glide about with graceful abandon. RSVP Gene C.

Saturday the 15th, time TBD. Wine Tasting & Book Exchange. Bring your books, CDs, DVDs, etc. to exchange for others. Don't forget a bottle of wine and snack to share. Steve and Diane W.

Sunday the 16th at 5:00 pm. Bowling with the Bodines. Meet at 5:00 pm for the early bird senior discount. After we burn up the lanes we will go around the corner for drinks and dinner. RSVP Al & Trish for a head count.

Wednesday the 19th at 6:00 pm. The WIHSKI Thinking and Drinking Society. Get together with your friends for a fun evening of eating, drinking and eventually thinking. Bring a potluck item and a beverage of your choice. Karen K. & Beryl S.

Friday the 21st at 4:00 pm til?. TGIF - place TBD. Not sure where this will be yet, but come, start your weekend off the right way - with friends. RSVP Dan & Connie C.

Sunday the 23rd at 9:00 am. Cross-country skiing @ Cabin Creek. We will meet at 9:00 am at a Park and Ride to car pool. After skiing we will find a spot for lunch. RSVP Rick and Karen L.

Tuesday the 25th at 6:30 pm. Book discussion Group. Come early and enjoy happy hour drink, eats and socializing. The book: Lost Painting by Jonathan Harr. Barbara R. and Bill B.

Wednesday the 26th at 6:30 pm. You are invited to join us at our favorite Itlian restaurant. Dinner at 6:30 with separate checks. They are in the Entertainment book and have a terriffic wine list. Connie & Len B.

Saturday the 29th at 6:00 pm. Potted Pie Party. Our theme is going to be "pies". Limited to the first 30 sign-ups at the Janurary meeting. Al & Trish B. and Bill B.

February:

Monday the 7th at 5:00 pm til?. TGIM at Arnie's. Spend some "unhurried" time to socialize and make friends. RSVP to Tom H and Maryann L.

Thursday the 10th at 6:00 pm. Ethnic dinner at a delicious Indian restaurant. RSVP Rick & Karen L.

Saturday the 12th at 7:00 pm - til?. Red and White Party. Celebrate Valentine's Day! Wear you favorite red and white ensemble. Bring a snack to share, BYOB. RSVP Doug W. or Beth D.

Wednesday the 16th at 6:30 pm. Pinochle at Helen's. Bring a snack to share and a dollar for the pot, BYOB. Play begins at 7.

Wednseday the 16th, time TBD. Nordic Skiing at Cabin Creek. Another wonderful glide about at Cabin Creek. RSVP Gene C.

Saturday the 26th from 6 - 10 pm. Funny Hat & OOdles of Noodles Party. Don your Noodle with a frivolous funny hat and make your way to the Oodles and Noodles Party. And for food we are adopting a "Noodle" theme. Plan to bring "oodles of noodles" in an appetizer, salad, main dish or dessert. BYOB. Sign up at the January meeting as space is limited.
